New Neons!

I just got back from the LFS with 5 neons for my 5 gallon!! Now all i need is more tankmates for em.

Congratulations on the new neons!

I was going to get a 5 or 10g, but then it dawned on me how few fish I could keep in it, so I got an 18g.

You won't be able to put too many more fish in there with the neons.

is that tank cycled yet there fishman? I thought neons were a bit fragile for cycling.

Colors are really coming out now.

No this is not Fishman on C-man's name. it truely is C-man. Fishman is my sibling thats how i know. And since he is a little slow on the responce i answered it fast!

it has been cycling for about a day, i know thats too short, but the neons seem to be fine. they are swimming around fine. Colours are bright! and yes they cost me 10 dollars. I think i might put some cories in, and some more neons. Ill c next time i go to the LFS.

After a day of cycling...your ammonia levels haven't even started to build up yet.

Where they're going to be most fragile is the several weeks of high nitrites.

I really think he should have waited to get them...and I also think that any tankmates should DEFINITELY wait until after the tank is finished cycling.

I agree, it's a good thing they only cost 10 bucks. Neons are not good for cycling a tank, better get the little neon coffins ready I'm afraid.

So how are them neons fishman????? I have been very worried about those fish in a noncycled tank and it has been keeping me up nights even. I hope they are all healthy and happy still.

LOL!! well dana, one is very happy to be in my 20 gallon. As for the others, well....there gone. Im hoping they are very happy in another world. I am getting a 20 gallon tank, and i WILL cycle it this time hehe . Thanks!

I just drove up to the big smoke and got:

11 cardinals
10 black neons and
2 clown loaches

to go with my:
glowlights, lemons and rummies, quite a colourful tank now
