I was given a 29 gallon tank yesterday that included an 8 inch oscar and two full grown three spot gouramis. (The 29g tank is for an upgrade on my 10g nano saltwater tank).

I moved all the fish I had in my 30g tall into other tanks before adding these three new fish. The gouramis will be given away asap. The oscar will going into an empty 55g within the next few days. I drained all the water last night and need to replace the gravel and do a major cleaning before adding him.

I probably won't keep the oscar since I have plans to turn this tank into an mbuna tank but I thought I would post a picture anyway.

Very nice Oscar and good to hear you got a new tank to upgrade. Hopefully when you get those tanks up and running later on some pictures will be added to the site:)

the shape of the head leads me to believe it is a she, males tend to have more blockish heads. she is very pretty. I would honestly think about keeping her for a little while, growing her up a little and using her in trade towards your Mbuna. You might just fall in love with her.

Oscars can be trained and some are as smart as a small dog. I had my albino trained to eat out of my hand and swim in a circle and then jump up from the water. Sadly, I had to move on the fly and he had to go.

It's so pretty!I want an Oscar a lot. Is it really that bad to put an Oscar in a 29 Gallon?

My tank is a 29 Gallon(UK) and 35 Gallon (US)

Also whats the diff and what is the usually used Gallon type.
