Just picked up a couple of Oscars (one tiger and one albino tiger) from the lfs and just let them out of there bags into my 90 gallon. They seem to be hanging out at the bottom of the tank swimming around a little bit exploring their new home. I turned on the light to take a look and they almost seemed to cower in the corner of the tank so I quickly turned off the light. Is this normal? How long should I be waiting to turn the light on? I was thinking about waiting till tomorrow. What do you think? Thanks for any help.

Yea, I'd wait to turn the light on. Do you have a window nearby that you can open to let some natural light in gradually? When I have new fish I leave the light off in the tank...then turn the light on in the room so there is some light...or if its in the morning I'll open up a shade and let them have natural light so its not quite as glaring.

You could also get some floating plants so that they can get some "shade" I have a light on half of my tank and not on the other half so they always have somewhere darker to go when the light is on. (the hood is retarded, but it works haha)
