Hubby got me an order of 10 Otocinclus cocama and 20 Boraras brigittae. Merry Christmas to me!!

I'll post some pics when they settle in. After 2 hours drip acclimating them, I turned out the lights after releasing them into the tank. Less stress the first night here.

It looks like more when they congregate in that corner (there are 16 of that species in the 40 gallon breeder).

Here is a close-up of a male: S6301127.jpg and a female: S6301112.jpg

Note the algae EVERYWHERE! On plants, on rocks, on the walls. I worked HARD for MONTHS to get this much algae (and types they WILL eat). They are mowing through it fast though.

I'm trying to mimic the rainy season, so have lowered the water level and bumped up the temp a bit to start out.

When the pressure gets low here (whether it rains or not), I add 5 gallons of RO water, 10 degrees cooler than the tank's temperature and 'rain' it in with a spraybar.

Water here is wayyyyyyy hard, so I'm adjusting the GH slowly with each addition of water. When I do water changes, I do 50% RO and 50% tap.

I thought I had caught/sold all of the Red Cherry Shrimp but alas...I found 3 adult females. They are the 'black cherry' version that my strain eventually became.

If there are three berried females, there has to be at least one male in there too eh? hahahaha!
