SO im thinking about getting one of these. The tank does get fry and they get sucked into my filter sometimes so im thinking about using a sponge prefilter. I know penguins do not deal with low water well or restricted flow, so im wondering if this will work? Does anyone have any type of prefilter on theirs? And also iv read MANY posts about bio-wheels and being a pain, stopping, slowing etc. Is this the case? Im thinking if the prefilter cuts the flow rate the biowheels will give me trouble? I have one Aquaclear should i get another? They defienetly do work with a sponge prefilter. The only thing is i like the bio-wheel's biological filtration capabilities or else id get another AC.
Thoughts?
Thanks

Personally I would go for another aquaclear. I had a penguin with biowheel once wasnt exactly my favorite filter. I was never convinced on the biological capacities of the biowheel. I cant really see how the wheel has more surface area then the sponge on the aquaclear. Also you have to buy replacement cartages for the penguin. The aquaclear you just have to rinse and put back in. If you are worried about biological filtation with a aquaclear you can just put another sponge in or ceramic rings. Just my 2 cents
