New Problem

If I look really close at the glass in my fish tank, I see these tiny, white, almost microscopic creatures all over the glass!

What are they and how to I get rid of them? I recently did a water change, then they started appearing.

Hello; Could be hydra. If so and if memory serves, they were already present and are perhaps a sign of overfeeding.

I feed the fish once a day, and sometimes I forget... But how do I get rid of them?

BTW, I was just learning about hydra... I'll look at my science book again...

I just did some research on hydra, and no, the things in my tank are not hydra. The things in my tank swim all over and look like tiny dots and they move around, not anchored on the glass or decorations.

I tried to look at one under a microscope, but it was moving around too much to see anything. I saw it for a sec, but I can't really describe it. I will keep doing research and see if I can find anything.

I just found something that is very possibly what is in my tank. This is the link to the website that I found it on. Aquarium, Pond Fish Parasites; Trematodes, Flatworms, Nematodes, Detritus, Anchor Worms. It's the first one on the list.

I would guess a form of planeria, and is usually an indication of overfeeding.

Hmm.... How should I treat it? Just feed less?

Water changes and feed less - should get rid of the planaria fairly quickly.
