New tank with a betta and adf?

I am thinking about getting a 3 or 5 gallon tank for a betta and possibly an ADF. Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on wether or not i should get a filter or heater. THANKS

yes, and yes! I'd suggest an Eclipse 3 or 5...the bio-wheel filter they have in the hood is low turbulence and really nice for bettas.

I agree with twoluvcats, that's exactly the setup we have, except it's the Marlineland Hex 5 with our betta and adf. Same basic setup and yes you do need a heater.

I would suggest a 5 gallon glass tank. Its easier to clean and small heaters (50w) work perfect on them. I have a lot of acrylic tanks, and they are pretty nice, but I like the flexibility of glass tanks now...

But if your set on acrylic, and eclipse 6gal is a really nice setup, complete with removable lid slots for a heater!

I saw some nifty lookin' acrylic betta tanks on eBay a few days ago for pretty cheap. You should try checkin' them out...

If you plan to attempt keeping anything at all with your betta, I'd suggest a 5-gallon minimum. The ADF will appreciate having some room to stretch those legs! The 3-gallon really isn't enough for much more than one happy solitary betta.

I am going to go with a 10-gallon tank for them, Which would be better an internal or external filter?
