I have just finished rinsing and rinsing and one more time RINSING.... my tank for all of those who know what I am talking about...

Now I am setting it up and I would like to know that after the cycle period I want to get some African cichlids, I was told that I should get all the ones I want 1" in size at one time, so they don't attack each other, so they all settle in together , not a couple and then those get there own spots and when I decide to get new ones those are just running around getting nipped...

Is this true please let me know?

I was going to get about ten little guys.

That wd do fine. Not for africans, for any cichlid tank setup i'd suggest getting small ones & grooming them together. Coz 1 prob in getting adults & sub-adults is u dont know what their personalities are. But when small they wont hv that distinctive personalities.

if your planning on buying somer sort of algea eater like a pl*co or anything i would put that in first just to make sure the tank is infact ready to good. It would be a shame to buy all those fish at once and have them all die. But if not i'm sure it would be ok...it would be better to start them off all togeather as youngens like cichlidian said thuogh.
