new test kit

i bought this kit from a dif store bought that store didnt have a web site so i found it at petco.comheres the link to the test kit i boughthttp://http://petco.com/Shop/Product.aspx?R=4292&Nav=1&N=0&Ntt=test%20kits&cp=2&Nao=12&sku=563056&familyID=6243&.im having a hard time determining what the results are on the little chart givin.ive looked at other threads and tried what they said but no luck.
the results i got are
ph-7.4
ammonia-.8
nitrites coming soon.

ya i followed instructions and i called my lfs to ask if theres anything i can do to get clearer results they told me that theres not much to do.

You really do need to look at the results in daylight, as it will give you a better color match. I assume that's your problem, but you haven't really said what you're having difficulty with.

ya i did test at night but it was bright in the room.and my problem was determining wether or not the result is say(example) ph 7.4 or 6.4 its hard to determine becuse the test strips are very different from the reults ive been getting.

If you do the test at night, at least look at the test under fluorescent lighting, not incandescent. You need to be accurate with the water sample, accurate with the drop numbers and make sure you rinse the test tube really well. I'm guessing they no longer teach lab basics at school about accuracy and result interpretation.

If you're still having problems, you should call the customer service of the manufacturer.
