Hi Justin,

Welcome to the forums, ( From me at least ). The salt water hobby is expensive, but is worth the money when you see the beauty that can come from the tank. The fish you would want to have in a 20 gallon tank are....

- Red Striped Goby
- Cave Transparent Goby
- Catalina Goby
- Neon Goby
- FireFish
- LongSpine Cardinal Fish
- Purple FireFish

The fish above are just some of the fish you can put in a 20 gallon long tank.

You can have corals here are a few species...

- Neon Pineapple Tree Coral
- Purple Passion Tree Coral
- Taro Tree Coral
- Evergreen Starburst Polyp
- Neon Green Palau

And in case you want anemones....

- Condy Anemone
- Haitian Reef Anemone

Anemones are filter feeders, so baby brine shrimp should be added for the anemones can eat. Remember Anemones sting.

Also what kind of filter are you planning on getting and also what are you planning on feeding them.

- Live Sand and Live Rock is almost a MUST in the marine aquarium.

It's ideal to keep a separate tank with salt water for water changes and to replace evaporated water.

- Hope this helps

Welcome to mft. You actually have quite a few options for fish in a 20gal. As for the anemone, i wouldnt go with one especially since i think the condy gets pretty large.Im not sure on the haitian since ive not heard of it. And they need very pristine water. I would start off by reading the stickies at the top of the forum. They will tell you a lot and get you started in the right direction.

On LiveAquaria, they said that the Condy Anemone minnimum tank size...20 gallons. And I said it was optional.

Welcome to the world of saltwater (or at least planning). Before you think about fish, you'll need to learn about the setup and cycle. Reading through some of the stickies at the top of this forum and the Saltwater General forum should help.

It's really a case of corals or an anemone in a 20g tank. The anemone would sting any corals.

You're much better off getting a few (maybe three) small fish and some corals, if you're willing to spend out for good lighting. Corals (or anemones) aren't necessary for a tank if you're happy with just fish and live rock.

I wouldn't put any kind of anemone in a tank until you are really comfortable with Saltwater. Also you need to make sure you have the proper lighting and params. or it will just move all around your tank and then eventually die and flood they tank with all kinds of badness!
