Newbie Cichlid Question

#1
Would a tank with 4 Severums,4 Blood Parrots,6 Silver Dollars, and 4 Blue Acaras be ok?. How are these fish regarding care and compatibility. And how big(u.s. gallons) of a tank could this amount of fish hold?. I was just wondering if these fish are easy for a newbie to take care of. I think this would be a cool show tank IMO.*thumbsups

lets see, the BP's grow to 7 inches or so, the severums possibly to 8 inches, silver dollars, etc.

My personal advice for that exact mix would be a 125 gallon or 180 if you can.

i can tell you that with the exception of the acaras that the others are quite compatible, and i further add that you may give up any ideas about live plants. :)

i dont know about blue acaras, as i have never kept them.

I'd say at LEAST a 125. a 150 or a 180 might be easier to find. I have never seen a 125.

Hope you got lots of filtration. A friend of mine has a 200 stocked full of chocolate cichlids, nigaransues (sp), dimeruses, a whole wack of other huge things. He has a pair of Supreme Dynamaster 600's, 2 802 powerheads running something (I think a UGF) and some other filters on it

..... off topic but I have photos of his tanks if you'd like to see them. he has some massive cichlid tanks
