Newbie - Plants

I've got so many questions, sorry guys! We bought some live plants for our tank and as you're aware they come with weights on the bottom, at first i thought these must come off, however when i tried the plants floated tin the tank. Do you think i haven't got enough gravel in my tank? Or are the weights supposed to be kept on? Once again any help is much appreciated.

You can keep the weights on until they develop a better root system. Your gravel may be a bit too coarse for them to stay put. Just don't bury the weights, if you plan on taking them off later.
