hey everyone im caroline from UK. i dont really do computers, so not really sure what im doing half the time. ive got a 120 litre/ 29 gal tank with my bf, with plenty of fish. sadly a few losses, and currently have a guppy in the breeder coz his beautiful tail has gone :( i dunno if its dropped off from stress, of been nipped by another fish.

anyways, our tank consists of:
2 angels
4 tiger barbs
3 guppies (2 m 1 f)
6 glowlight tetras
4 neon tetras
5 penguin tetras
5 white cloud minnows
1 black ruby shark
1 albino ruby shark (called mango)
1 silver shark
2 mollies (1 m black 1 f white)
5 zebra danios

did have 4 green tiger barbs but the little blighters were harrassing the other fish so had to be given away.
ill try n get a piccie soon!

Welcome to the tank :D

And yes, you are seriously overstocked in that tank, the silver shark will grow to 14" and the angels & tiger barbs will nip at guppies for sure. The "general" rule for stocking is 1 inch of fish (calculated at full growth adult size, not current size) per gallon of water.

Welcome to the tank, whatsmango. Do you have all those fish in one tank? That seems quite crowded. At any rate, make sure you are doing lots of water changes to keep your babies healthy, if not a bit stressed from all the commotion.

Also being quite inexperienced I am not the person to ask about this, but it is my understanding that the tiger barbs and especially angels shouldn't be in with all those peaceful community fish (ie- tetra's, minnows, etc.)

At any rate, welcome and I hope you can get as much out of the wealth of knowledge available here as I have!

thanks for your replies everyone, i feel a little more welcome now! lol
i do agree, looking at the tank it is slightly overstocked, and if we have growth problems we will invest in another tank for the fish.
ive had no probs with the barbs so far, they are fairly big and only seem to keep their squabbles amongst themselves, which is quite entertaining to watch!
the silver is only a baby atm, when he gets better he'll be moved.
the angels keep to themselves and are quite shy atm, so they are sound too.
il add it was the bf who went crazy with the fish numbers lol
and as a last, the maimed guppy is doing fine, itll be a while til his tail is back though.

thanks again and chat to u all in a thread sometime!

It's been chucking it down everywhere around here - less Nitrate than the tap water, but with all the recent meteor showers and that space bacteria, I haven't dared use any rain water in my tanks ...... (we've had some weird threads recently)
