I like the coloration on the fins, but where's the marks on the side flanks?

I had thought that the Flowerhorns value was in the marking on the sides as in Chinese characters? Is this a new coloration that is becoming popular?

Oh yeah, alot of people on this forum don't like the 'hybridization' of fishes but if it's your fancy, why not? :)

I have no objection to hybrids in general - just to people who make a living out it by charging up to $800 a fish, and only post on here when they're trying to drum up interest in their business.

For cichlids nuckal hump is a symbol of sexual maturity. Hw awful that a fish 3-4" exhibits sexual maturity. Isn't it similar to a 5 yr old kid having a bush and a beard?
Whtever they look like, flowerhorns and blood parrots are no better than COLOURFUL ASSEMBLED WATER TOYS.
When there are 1500+ species of cichlids in nature with striking beauty & amazing behavior whatz the purpose of creating one except for money!?!?

Still horrible. I'm sure they are working on the horn now. Can this thing grow legs and walk out of water? Sure is headed that way. Nasty, horrible, ugly, whatever you wanna call it. I'd never even consider buying one.....not sure why others do and not sure why people sell them. Oh well.
