Am I right in thinking that these pods are full of Cation Exchange resin or similar that replaces the Nitrates with Sodium?
I am a bit dubious about using it as I keep a lot of Corys and they do not like salt.  ???

Sorry USA, you probably have not got these over there.
It is a pod that you connect to the mains supply to remove up to 90% of Nitrates and Phosphates, it is rechargeable with salt water.

If it is rechargable by salt, I would assume it is using ion exhange, probably with sodium ions.  As to whether this method adds "salt" to the water, I wouldn't think so, since you wouldn't be adding the relative amount of chlorine ion to the water in the ratio that makes salt. Hmm...this is quite a pondering question.
