Easy Balance makes life easier for freshwater aquarists by eliminating the need for frequent water changes. This water conditioner keeps aquariums biologically balanced for six months. It stabilizes pH and alkalinity levels and reduces phosphate for improved water quality. Add 1 teaspoon for every 5 gallons weekly.

it also feeds ur fish, cleans the glass, replaces ur filter catridges, and gradually makes ur tank larger....NO u need regular water changes to remove nitrates. NItrates can only be, in a resonable manner, be removed by water changes and dilution.

Yes, i agree with jawz, as much as they advertise that it will stop you from having to do water changes, eventually you will. It is just one of those products that seems to promise big things but hardly ever works.

But no jawz plants also take out nitrates so there! lol;)

BTW when it says reducing phosphate, that shouldnt make a difference in the fish's water quality, phosphate is a necessary nutrient for plants and has no effect on a fish's health. But it can contribute to algae.:)

I came across a "trouble shooting" chart for aquariums . . . in all of the suggestions for remedies . . . every one contained "water changes". I mean we don't take baths or showers in the same water, do we?

I like to meditate . . . I'm wondering if I take some of that Easy Balance if I can forego meditation for 6 months? Kinda like "instant Zen".
