noise from my ac500

has anyone had any probs with their ac500 filter making noise? its like a rattling noise. i have sand in my tank and im assuming it got sand in it and messed something up. i really dont want to have to buy another one but if thats all i can do then i will cause it has been a great filter. HELP PLEASE THE NOISE IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!!!

turn it off, and take a look. sometimes particulates get caught between the impeller and it's housing. I get noise occasionally and I bring the whole unit over to the sink because you have to remove the pump from the bottom. Remove the impeller and rinse out the water pump. you should be okay after that.

i have tried that it didnt help either...i wonder if it has just wore out is all???

I have a constant "humming" noise from my AC500. Sure can move some water but in my experience....very noisy when doing so.

Its hard to describe the noise, mine doesn't sound like anything is caught in there like sand.....its just a constant humming sound.
