I'm in the process of upgrading from my Marineland Magnun 350 to an Eheim 2026.  I suspect a number of you out there have also made the same upgrade.

Before I buy, I was curious if the Eheim is louder or quieter than the Magnum 350?

Thanks

Just an update, I installed my new 2026 over the weekend.  The noise difference between the Magnum 350 and the 2026 is incredible.

The 2026 is just slightly louder than my 3 powerheads running in the tank.  It is barely noticable.  It makes the Magnum 350 sound incredibly loud.

Thanks for the help

Did you fully purge air from 2026 head unit. They usually have small air pockets that can be flush out by slightly depressing prime head in. I do that to mine after servicing, and small air streams come out. After that I can't hear a thing. My air pump the loudest unit running on my tanks.  *crazysmiley*

I usually hold it down a little bit. It will allow for the small air pockets to escape from under the head. Look with a flashlight at the top section and you may see a water line/air section. I purge it slightly with the prime button, this brings all the gurgling air bubbles out of the head unit where the impeller is at. You may always get some air streams out of the outlet bar when you press the prime button down slightly, but you should be able to get all the noisy air pockets out. As for my 2028 unit, I can't hear anything. Maybe if the room was empty and it was the only thing on, I still would have to put my ear next to it to hear it running.  *crazysmiley*
