Noisy Rena Filstar XP3

Among my filters I have 3 Filstars. One is a XP1 and the other 2 are XP3s. One of the XP3s is the noisiest canister filter I have ever owned! The other two are quiet but this one rattles, hums, clicks, and sometimes it sounds like I can hear the motor cycling. It is only a year old and for most of that time I didn't even use it because it was so noisy. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be and how to fix it?

First thing I would check is the impeller. I belive that the impeller is really the only moving part, or at least close to it, so it should be fairly simple to diagnose problems.

I would check it for any damage, and give it as well as the chamber it sits in a good cleaning. If it still persist's, I would get a new one. Shouldn't cost more than a few bucks.
