i have a betta that is male and his body is completely black, all his fins are blood red. Over his gills he has blood red spots i've never seen it on a betta before, is it normal?
If the red gills do not look like normal coloring (bettas can be almost any mix of colors), its most likely an ammonia burn. Try testing your ammonia and nitrites and do a water change if they are high.
