Not really a disease, but, parasitic outbreak?!

About a week ago I brought a dragon fish (violet goby) home from the pet store. Well now about a week after introducing it to the tank there seems to have been a parasitic outbreak in the tank in the form of small 2 centimeter-ish long and one hair width wide worms crawing all over my gravel and glass, quite frankly I'm terrified at the thought of even putting my hands in that water *SICK*

I recorded a video of one of the "worms" and sped it up by a factor of 6. Is there a way to kill these? What are they? Are they harmful? Are they going to eat my brains?

It's a 20g freshwater tank with a Gourami, 1 shrimp, 1 snail, the violet goby, and 3 tetras. Tank has been set up for about 4 months.

please help :(

If they're in the tank, I doubt they're parasites, or a danger to your fish.

They're most likely planaria or some kind of harmless nematode (worm). The fish will likely eat them, especially the gourami. Cut back on feeding, and they'll probably disappear.

A copper-based treatment will probably kill them, but would kill plants/snails, too.

I had those worms once in a 40 gal tank after we moved the fishes that were in there to a 55 gal. When there wasn't fish in there these things reproduced like mad, but then I had a swordtail that was pregnant so I put her in this tank to have her fry and she (or her fry) munched them all in a matter of days. If you stop putting food in the tank the fish will take care of them for sure.
