On both my right side and left side of my tanks interior? I havea NANO CUBE 24 Gallon, its farely new and has finished cycling. It has 3 turbo snails, 3 hermet crabs, 2 blue damsels and 1 chromis. Im constantly wiping down the inside. Is this a good or bad thing to have? All tips are welcomed, thanks

It's algae. You're going to get it RO or not, you have living creatures in there producing nutrients. It's why you have a clean up crew. Using RO is just a route to stop having superfluous wastes.

its a algae that can be wiped away, went to the local fish stores and "T" from The Reef said that I could just let it be or buy these small tea bag like sacks and place on inside the filter area, he told me that its natural and its one of the phases of a salt water tank. it should be gone within 2 weeks, is he correct??

He's somewhat correct. You still need a couple snails to remove it - it's not jsut going to stop by itself. Rather it wil lbereplaced by another type alage

currently i have 3 turbo snails and 3 hermt crabs, im looking to get a tang fish, i read that they help in cutting back some of the algae, would u say that i may need some more cleanup crew members for my NANO CUBE 24?

a tang will not be a good option for a 24, they require a lot more swimming room. i would get a few more hermits and maybe a couple different types of snails. also, know that turbos get very big over time

couple more yeah. Personally i like the turbos for their size and work, but i noticed that when the temp goes up, they are the first to go. I lost my turbo when we had a heat wave last summer...they all died. My other nassarius and bumble bee lived. I think the turbo are from colder water from mexico.

Dunno about a tang in a 24 as they swim a lot and can be territorial. Maybe a type of goby ? BTW Tangs will not be able to get rid of non-hairy algaes on glass. Their mouth can't do the job altough they try.

Try some margarita or astrea snails........they are more of a small glass cleaner. 3 Turbos in a 24gal seems like too many IMO. 2 Nassarius snails would also be good to keep the substrate clean.

I also get the greenish haze on the glass sometimes, but the snails I mentioned do a good job of taking care of it. I actually cultivated the hair algae on the back wall only so it's kind of like a green fuzzy carpet on the back wall. I kind of like the way it looks. :) (And it helps with nitrates)

And oh yeah....I agree, no tang :)

guess i cant really put any other fish in here do to the size of this tank, i guess its a good starter tank, might as well buy some more crabs and snails and make it a cleaning crew tank

Have you thought about any gobies yet? I'm loving my yellow watchman. I've had him for about, oh... a month and a half (roughly) now. Still doing good, loves to sit in the little "cave" and watch me sit here. Kinda skittish when I walk up a little too fast to the tank, and is kinda camera shy, but he's beautifully colored. Bright yellow with neon-fluourescent specks.
