Hello,

Currently I have the Nova Extreme Pro with 6 T-5 bulbs on my 46 gallon tank. Lately, I've seen the new Marineland LED light fixtures for much cheaper. How much better are these fixtures compared to the nova extreme pro? I was thinking of purchasing one but I can't figure out why the nova extreme pro is much more expensive. Is the LED light better or the nova extreme pro? Here's a link for the LED fixture.

Marineland Double Bright LED Light Fixture (24-36 Inch)

Would the LED be better for a reef tank?

the nova would be better than what you linked to! i dont see those paticular LED's being good for anything but actinics.... a good LED fixture can run over $1000

yes

From what I read The LED lighting is new and very expensive (for the good stuff) WavePoint LED Lighting System

So if what you have is working for your tank, try and stick with it.

Note: if you choose to buy saltwater equipment buy from Marinedepot.com, this is where I buy all my stuff and most of the time they have the best price.

Code to use for no sale tax. NOCALTAX for cali.

good luck.
