I got them yesterday and they all seem to be ok except one. This one is hiding in my decoration and won't come out at all. If I can convince him to come out he does swim a bit and looks ok and will eat although not as aggesively as the others do. My water parameters are all good no ammonia/nitrites etc. Should I leave him there and see what happens? Take him back to the store tomorrow morning if he hasn't changed? Thanks I don't want him to die.

Are the others picking on him?

If not he is probably a little timid, and will be that way until he settles in.

Now if there are any signs of disease, rapid breathing, open sores.. Then by all means take him back.

Some fish can have 'personality' similar to humans. Some can be more outgoing while others more reserved, timid and shy. Who knows, mabey that one had a more tramatic childhood than the others. lol.

But I would just give him a few days to a few weeks to let it settle in. But like Pure said, if it starts showing any signs of disease then take it back.

cool thank you. You know how it is you get new fish and you want them to come alive in your tank so you can watch them swim etc.

This morning he has been hanging out at the heater. Hasn't really moved much but there as of yet no signs of disease that I can see.

How long is he warrantied for? Some angelfish are just shy. The biggest one in my tank hangs out by himself and always has. He is the first one at the food dish though so if he is not eating after a few days i would be concerned.

It sounds like your angel is stressed. He may have just arrived at the lfs before you purchased him which happens to me all the time. Yet, I have had only 1 casualty Balloon Molly. If he had just arrived and then you purchased him its like double stress.

He is still hiding like that. It has been a week now. Still no signs of disease or anything and the water parameters are still good. I guees I just got a shy one which is weird. The rest always greet me at the tank when I walk up to it.
