Hello Fellow Fishy Friends,

Borris, my fat Molly is still very fat after 4 months and no babies, I think maybe there could be a problem!

Please have a look at my before and after pics (also notice the increase of black spots!) and tell me what you think, the first one is when I first got her and the second taken just now.

She is the boss of the tank and eats everything and I'm sure if she could, everyone! The poor fry have to be on their toes :)

Can I have an obese fish?!

Thank you x x x

keep in mind that in nature fish will go 3-5 days between meals, I feed mine on a morning and evening schedual and every other week I will let them go 2-3 days with nothing, they are healthy just don't grow very fast, the only thing is I have to remember to feed my lobster during these times or run the risk of finding a half eaten fish.

She looks fine and healthy to me. When we say fish fish are obese, thats technically called "Fatty Tissue/Liver Degeneration". Its caused by overfeeding fish powdered and processed foods. This, in turn, causes the internal organs to degenerate. Similiar to hardening of arteries and liver disease in humans. Your fish have it when the internal organs swell and are visible through the flesh. To prevent this feed more live foods and vegetables.
