I am going to get a tank between 75 - 120 gallons. It will have dirt goldfish and need a good water turn over rate. I want to run a sump as well. Which if these is best?

Reef Aquarium Filtration: Eshopps Overflow Boxes

OR

Aquarium Filters: Continuous Siphon Overflow

And! I need a pump. I guess I will want about 1000 GPH. It will have to go up at most 6 feet but at minimum of 5 feet. So probably a Mag Drive 1800 as at 6 feet it will be about 1100 GPH. That being said what GPH siphon box should I get. And what kind?

I know you're running a freshwater tank, but I think the salties might be better able to tell you about overflow boxes and sumps. It might possibly be a good idea to post on the saltwater forum. I don't think they'll beat you up or anything.;)

From what I understand with my research in overflows is to get a drilled tank. If you haven't purchased the tank yet, get one that has a built in overflow, otherwise know as Reef Ready(RR).

HOB overflows have a way of losing its siphon wich woudl then empty your sump and overflow your tank.

Again, just what I have researched, like Judy said, perhaps post this in SW section too.

well this one will have one of those little air lifter pumps. I have set one up for a person before and they have never had that mishap just because of the lifter. SO I think I will be okay. I am also going to get a water detection switch that will kill the pups if water his this detector.
