I've had him for a year and a half.

I put him into a little cup with new water.
He just kinda tipped upside down.

Since I've done everything I could have. I decided that he should sleep peacefully, and i put him in the freezer :'(
Poor guy.

I think he died of old age.... and he haddn't been eating or moving much lately, so I guess it was his time to go.

Probably "old age" .. then too bettas develop dropsy usually without any reason. Personally I think it is the inbreeding that shortens their life. If you can get a betta that is of the "wild" type, they are not as colorful but they seem to live longer. They also seem more active. Also, they are real pigs when it comes to eating and have a tendency to become constipated. I feed them once a day . . .and if you feed them live worms, feed only 1 or 2 worms.

Good luck with your next betta.

Flightless, I'm so sorry about your loss. I just lost my Betta today after 1 1/2 years too. It's nice to be able to come here for a hug - most people who don't have fish don't realize how attached you get. Hope things work out well for you and your next Betta.
