I took these last night. I wish I could say with my own lens, but alas, I rented a 100mm Macro lens and I'm in LOVE with it. I'm getting used to it and will have it for a week, so hopefully I'll be able to get some better photo's than these. But for a first session I don't think they turned out too bad at all.

The first ones are of some of my juvie Blue Acara's. I promise I didn't go crazy trying to over-sharpen the head like around the gill plates! They have so many tiny irredecent speckles everywhere to me it looks like I tried to over sharpen in photoshop.

And just for Cichlid-Man, the man who has the most tired fish I've ever seen to be able to get so many yawning photo's of them....

(yeah not the best, the body was bent and the head a little out of focus, but I was so amazed I was able to catch it! lol)

I'm sure I'll have more before the week is up and I've got to return the lens

Thanks everyone!

Yes C-man, that's a safe bet I think :D I'm loving this. I'm looking forward to how my future photo's will look as I understand the camera more and become better with it and photography in general.

The more I look at these I can start to already pick them apart somewhat myself. For one the brightness and contrast is off a bit on a few. And on the shots of the Blue Acara's I really should have used a lower Fstop than what I did. I'm open to any other constructive criticism as well. This is all a new learning process for me so I'm glad to assimilate as much info as I can.
