I recently purchased two AquaClear (50 gal models) powerheads with an output of 270 GPH each. My question is whether these powerheads are good, and if they will provide too much circulation for the fish I have. I only have one in the tank now, another on order. Also, I plan on adding LR soon too (in stages) and it doesn't look like I can really direct the flow downwards if I wanted to. It mainly seems to flow across the top of the tank. Is this ok? I read its good to have it flow down to keep algae off the LR. Thanks!
My 45-gal tank:
1 damsel
2 clowns
Rena canister filter
coming soon:
Coral Beauty angelfish
25 lbs LR
