OK Where did he go?

I have a lil prob here. I bought a firefish about 10 days ago. Things were going fine....BUT I have not seen hide nor fin of him in about 4 days....I checked all about the tank... No Ammonia spike ( thinking he might have bit the dust) ...I DONT WANT TO HAVE TO TEAR DOWN MY LIVE ROCK WALL....
This is really frustrating...I just set this lil tank up about 2 months ago...Things are (were) going great. Now, I am in a pickle. Any ideas on what I should do?

Give him more time! Fish are notorious for hiding and there have ben so many people come on here( myself included) stating that their fish have disappeared. He will come out eventually. Keep an eye on the levels just to make sure the terrible hasn't happened. Other than that... time will tell!

fire fish are known to hide for the first weeks, soon he will be out showing you his pretty colors.

Do you have a lid on the tank...they are known jumpers!
What else is in your tank ie. crabs, sea stars or anything like that?

There's nothing you can do. If he's dead then the clean up crew will have eaten him in pretty short order

Wayne states a good point which is what I was getting at by asking you what other critters are in your tank. Like Wayne said a good clean-up crew will have any trace of him gone in no time!

Yes I have a great lid on the tank and yes I do have a great clean up crew. ie:8 hermit crabs and a peppermint shrimp.....Geez Guys.... you arent very encouraging .....to date he was my most expensive fish....

he may still be alive. they like to hide so he can be any were there is a cave or dark place in your tank.
