Okay it's a leak

I have a 35 gal hex glass aquarium. With fish in it (nothing super fancy).

I had moved from CT to MN and the plastic edging had cracked. I taped around it and figured it was more cosmetic and to apply the pressure on the stand properly. I then tested it on my porch. No leaks for two days. I put it in my basement and got it all going- all was fine. I get plants and my second round of fish- and there's the thinnest little drip coming from the top. The very top, from underneath the black border plastic part. I tape a towel to the side of the tank (it was only 1 drip every like 20 seconds) and wait to see how low it goes- figuring it can't get that low because it's dripping from the top.

i got it like 1/3 down and still there's the trickle. So I give up and fill it. I have a HOT canister filter and don't want to get it sucking air or anything. I siliconed the spot on top and now it's just dripping around it- problem not solved. (I moved the towel). It was like this for probably 4 months.

Now it's dripping faster- my towel is pretty moist, and I realize it's time for help.

Where the heck can I bring it? My father in law used to build tanks but he's just not a helpful person. What should this cost? I can get something to put the fish in for short term- siphon their water over and they'll be fine, but I do like my tank.

Does anyone live in the Twin Cities area that could recommend somewhere?

Thanks,
Robyn

Make your tank COMPLETELY DRY on the outside. CAREFULLY. Fill the tank without getting any water on the outside---slowly. When the leak starts, you can be able to pinpoint the spot easier.
