Old Live Rock

I plan on reusing my old fiji LR when I get a tank started back up. I would assume boiling it before using it would work ok? I'll get a few pounds of new stuff to help seed everything of course and since i have so much old rock I'd like to reuse it. I'm still thinking about an 40gal tank, but maybe a little higher. I want a good mix between all dimensions unlike my previous 55.

I wouldn't boil it personally. Some spores can live years on live rock without water. There may be plenty of life on there waiting for some water to get it goign again.

Where has the old rock been that you feel that you should boil it?

exactly what i was thinking... why do u feel it needs to be boiled?

Just a thought I guess. I've kept the rock in sealed 5gal buckets since I moved. I guess just cycling them with new rock will work?
