I received my sisters fish because she can no longer care for them. Seemed pretty straightforward at the time. OMG! I am the proud owner of a 14 inch pleco, 2 goldfish the size of softballs, a couple of bronze catfish and a whack of snails....
the bronze are sick and I have separated them into a holding tank from the others but am not sure what to look for. They have blood in their gills and in several pin points on there abdomens, abdomens are distended. I feel bad for the little dudes and am not sure what to do to help them....nothing else in the main tank is sick....

Sorry no one has tried to help yet.

What sized tank are the fish in (both the main tank and the holding tank)?

Did the nitrogen cycle complete on either tank?

Can you post the readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

What temperature are you keeping the tanks at? You have a mix of tropical and cold-water fish.

The symptoms could indicate ammonia and/or nitrite poisoning.
