On Lighting...

I've had a low-light reef in the past, but with the 72 I an setting up, I want to go all out.

I have never used metal halide lamps before. What are the energy costs in relation to their worth? If they cost a ton torun, I might go with other options. If not, I am planning a set up like this one: 36" 442W Metal Halide Aquarium Reef Light w/ Free Ship - eBay (item 130208263825 end time Mar-29-08 04:02:51 PDT)

I'd run the actinics for an hour or two before and after the halide, and have the halide running for 10-12 hours. The LED's wouldn't be on timers; I'd use them when I want them.

Seems like a great light but I'm a little apprehensive about the halides without knwoing mroe about them.
