He'll do fine with 1 eye, and you will notice him swimming a little tilted so he can see the rest of the tank better. A bottom feeder might swim completely sideways to see the bottom. I've noticed that my 1 eyed tetra will stay a little out of the school when they are relaxed, but will join up when there is danger (water changes, etc.).
