Unfortunately, he's incredibly shiny, and dulling the flash dulls his appearance and makes him look yellow and dirty He's a stunning, clean pearly white, just as a polit should be

Helena, I don't know how common it is, but its not uncommon necessarily. Also, they're probably not considered egg spots when they're on the dorsal

I've only got one adult female right now...I bought a group of 11 one-inch juvies about two months ago, and he gave me their mother as well. A few weeks ago I decided to add the smaller of my 4 saulosi males and see what happened...he's been harassing her a lot the last few days, and yesterday I came home to find her with a mouthful

Thanks MemnochsKat. If you ever do decide to get some...don't do one or two, get at least three - and it has to be just one male, and two females (which are brown, btw).
