I have a cory that has an open wound. I just noticed this and im pretty woried. This is my oldest cory so i dont want him/her to die. Its only a little less than a centimeter long but you can see the red in the wound so its fresh. How do i treat this?
thats a tough one...I would think that keeping the water clean and maybe some extra water changes would help. If there is a good antibiotic that you use you might try some small doses of that.
ya know how when we get a cut the best way to get it to heal is put an antibiotic ointment on it and keep it clean right? Thats what I'd go off of, since you can't exactly give him a bandaid
Well im not too sure but it could only be 2 things.
1}Plastic Plants
2}Terracotta Pots
Other then that i dont see what could have cut him, so im going to inspect the pots just to make sure theyre arnt any sharp edges. And ill do some water changes since its about that time of the week again anyways.
Thanks 420loach that picture is real old so its pimped out a lot more now.
Well i got a look at him today and there is nothing there but a little pale red were the cut was. So obviously its healing well and i didnt have much to worry about. So ill just keep an eye on it just incase it turns into a fungus or whatever else that could develope.
Our new yoyo loach got caught in the power head today and has a couple of gashes on him.
He's so tiny, and I am really hoping he makes it. This at least gives me hope that he'll heal quickly. (We have since made sure no one can get caught in there again).
Nope, no meds. I noticed the gash late at night, so i posted and went to sleep. But when i got home from school and checked it seemed to look a lot better. So i think time will heal your little yoyo. Good luck
