My tank is 120gal, my plan is to use two Eheim 2260 canisters, one filled with mechanical filtration media, the other filled with biological filtration media. Each canister is rated at 500gph, there will be two Oscars in the tank. Any suggestions?

Saint, the canisters I am considering each hold 18litres of filtration media. They are each, almost 2' tall. I would rather have more than enough filtration, than not enough.
I think you misunderstood me. ADD the HOB to the 2 canisters. Using it alone is not what I meant. I have 2 Oscars with an AC 500, an Emp 400 and an Eheim 2028. I have what you call more than enough!

Saint, my tank is rr, I would like to put two Emporer 400's in it, but the edge of the overflow boxes are right where the intake of the 400 should go. The tank also has a large glass brace 11 1/2" wide, right in the center, so theres not much room for any meaningful hob. Thats why I want the monster 2260's, lots of filtration media, 1k gph turnover.
