Oscar vs. Pacu

My two fish- oscar and pacu- have been fighting ever since they were put in the tank. When i first got the pacu my oscar would pick on him and now they pick on each other. Do i just have to let it play its course? Could they really hurt each other. They are about the same size now...6 in?...and in a 75 gallon tank. Is there anything i can do about there fighting? There like two kids!...haha

Get a tank divider.......They are cheap....

Get rid of hte pacu and let hte oscar keep the tnak to himself.

The pacu grows ot big.

I agree, sell the pacu back to the store while you still can! Those fish get huge and then nobody wants them at that size. (At least with a full grown oscar you can find them a home if you have to...)

I do agree with everyone but, the oscar will also outgrow the tank...

oscars while cramped can survive if alone in a pretty open 55, wouldnt suggest it but it can be done

Alright, I'm fed up w/ this stupid pacu...whats the best way to get rid of it? Do any fish stores take in unwanted fish???

yes get rid of the pacu... they grow 2ft and they are well known tank busters.. :/

heres a pic i took rescently at a local aquarium of a full grown pacu.

you can judge its size because the blocks in back are about 1foot by 3 foot and 2 foot by 2 foot.

I suggest getting ahold of local aquarium societys and explaining your problem. they might be able to help you.. also some smaller LFS sometimes take trade in's.

One oscar outgrowing a 75 is a stretch. I think it will be just fine alone in there.
