** oscars lip looks "ripped" **

Could have gotten into a fight with tankmates, or could have ran into something causing it. When I had my oscar, he would run into either the side of the tank, or rocks when he was startled and often cut or hurt itself.
My biggist worry was always secondary infection with an open sore. I treated with melafix everytime, and never had any problems. Some other anti-bacterial meds would work just as well.

my oscar also has a ripped lip. a couple months ago i just started to noticing that his bottom lip was just slowly deteriorating. now he was no bottom lip, but he acts normal. he has a little part of the bottom lip that kinda hangs around and is usually inside his mouth, but sometimes it will venture out and hang on the outside. he has always been the biggest fish in the tank and i know its not from a fight. But my oscar still acts the same, still active. he eats soooo much too. but to this day i still have no idea how it happened
