It sounds normal to me. Otos will rest while attached to glass (or rocks/plants etc.). They tend to like somewhere shaded to hang out, so maybe a tall plant next to the glass where no one else hangs out would give them a nice place to chill. :)

I have a pair of oto's in my 10g and they are never near the heater they are if anything farthest away. My oto's are weird I got them both the same day and they where both the same size and now one is about 4 times as big as the other and the other one moves not nearly as much as the FAT one. Oto's are great BottomFeeder's and I love them I seen them at the my LFS and I have been impressed with them since.

My oto likes to be near the heater too. The other place that mine really likes, is the air tubing. He loves to attach to it for long perios of time. Or sit on the suction cup for the tubing. As long as he is alive and healthy, go with it.

I have noticed my otos like to hang out near the heater as well. It's shaded back there, and for the most part my other fish don't swim around there too much (save for my betta, who will occasionally wander past), so I suppose they have sort of claimed it as "theirs".

I try to keep from cleaning the back wall of the tank too, though with green spot algae, the front and sides often need a bit of scrubbing with a toothbrush every week or so.
