Would it be possible to get a pair of otos for my 10 gallon? I have rampant algae, and I just saw some little otos at the pet store today. I do have algae wafers that I could feed them when they finish with my tank algae.

The tank has a paradise fish, a kuhli loach, a platy, and 3 zebra danios. The one that I wonder about is the paradise...would it leave little otos alone?

Also, is there room for 2 otos, or is the tank over/at stock?

Otos are only really good for brown algae. If you have other kinds of algae, they won't really help. :(

Almost all community fish seem to leave otos alone (even angels and gouramis etc.). I think you would be OK with the stocking levels, but don't get them if you have another kind of algae. I have found amano shrimp good for quite a few different algae types.

Really? I thought that fish liked green algae, and left the brown alone. I have masses of green algae growing...it seems quite healthy, but is kind of an eyesore.

Will cherry shrimp work as well as amano? I've never seen amano for sale anywhere.
