three days ago I bought two Otocinclus Affinis. one clean the tank for half a day but now both have stopped. I've tried algea wafers and zuccine. but nothing seems to work. any tips.
Tank setup
2 months
10 gallon tank
0 ammonia
0 nitrite
10 ppm nitrate
3 zebra danios
2 Otocinclus Affinis
I am new to this and any advice would be nice.
In addition incase the Otocinclus Affinis dont make it. any advice on a better bottom feeder for a newbie like me.

Ottos are usually pretty finicky for awhile. Its possible that they're "full" and really dont want to eat right now. They dont eat like other fish usually. How do their tummies look? If they look like they swallowed a pea whole then they're happy...just leave them alone for a bit. If their tummy is sunken in and your tank is completely clear of brown algae and they're not touching what you've offered to them, it might be too late for them. Once they get hungry enough they'll usually find the food you've offered them. Try putting food in at night and seeing if its gone (or eaten on) in the morning...most algae eaters are noctournal.

The only algae eater you can really use in a 10G would be ottos or a big apple snail...maybe some shrimp. There really aren't any plecos that stay small enough for a 10.

Both of my otos are always fat plus i always see them eating:) When i bought my otos they didn't start eating until 2 days after. I bought my otos 2 months ago so I think they're fine.
