I'm not quite positive on what kind of fish they're I don't want to tell you the wrong thing! ;) But my friend had an oto and its her favorite fish. They're very cute, and easy to take care of. They can be hard to find in pet stores though. You see, they do such a good job at eating algae that everyone wants them! So they go really fast. To be sucessful at getting one I'd ask your local pet store owner when they're going to get them and go out THAT DAY to your pet store. Or if they aren't sure, find out when your pet store gets a new shipment of fish and go in that day and check things out. But when u do get one, I guarentee you won't regret it. They do a fabulos job. Just make sure to add them to a well establised tank (ya know, don't put them in a 20 gallon all alone! make sure theres plenty of fish for it) Good luck and Happy fish-shopping!

Oto's are a small type of catfish. They do a great job at cleaning up algae when used in groups. They get along well with about any kind of non-agressive fish. They are easy to take care and fairly hardy. I should mention, that if you are planning on buying some, be warned that they have a strange way of dying when transported to a new tank. However, if they last for a week or so after you put them in your tank, they will probably last you a long, long time. Make sure your LFS has a decent warranty!

Oto's are great at cleaning your tank. Will eat algae, provided that they aren't feed to much fish flake left overs. Also, be careful when servicing filter equipment. I had my inlet strainer removed for cleaning, and found out that OTO's will climbing into filter system to munch on gunk in inlet tube. I have one that love to hang out at filter pickup to eat large particles trppped at strainer. :-X
