Mine prefer the brown algae; they pretty much ignore green algae. Are their little tummies nice and round? If so, they're getting plenty to eat and are fine. If they don't seem to be getting much to eat, try putting a blanched slice of zucchini or cucumber in the tank; they should enjoy that.
