our first losses

tonight, right after a water change, we lost our first fish. 2 danios just went belly up. we only went one month before losing our first fish.

did you use a dechlorinator when you did the water change?

this was my fourth wc. i've done 4 33% changes now. for the first three, i used bio-safe. this time, i skipped it. when i read the directions again, it said to use it for new aquariums or 50%+ wc. i guess i'd better go back to using it. everyone else seems to be doing just fine.

aww, so sorry cbock. And they did so well during your trip away . Yah, I have read before that if you do less than a 20% water change then you don't need to "treat" the new water, but I do anyway. It just feels right to me.
I'm sorry about your danios. Good luck with your new fishies you choose. Just chalk it up to a learning experience.

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. I had my first losses this week too, two of my otos died in 3 days! I don't know why, I've heard that they tend to die for no reason right after you get them, but I've had them for about a month now with no problems..
