depends on the size of those bala sharks.....

since those bala sharks will get huge (I think they get over 12" right?) thatsetup will be way too much for that tank (with all the danios and barbs)

if you go by the 1" fish rule and look at the max sizes of all thos fish, you're easily going over 100 inches of fish in that tank.....

I think if you replaced the Bala's with something like 2-3 Rainbows or Gourami's you'd be in really good shape (something that wont get over 4"-5")

Yea um the 1 inceh per gallon rule is old and uselesss so dont go by that. But he is right that those sharks do pose a problem on ur tank and would be better off replacing with another type of fish. Sharks generally get up to 10' and require plenty off swimming room plus they want a school of like 5-7 which u need a large tank for. Plus when they grow other fish might become food

I agree with Jawz about the uselessness of the 1" rule, but it is a good guideline if your totally unsure or a newbie to aquariums.

you'd defintely either have to yank the sharks, or go with nothing but balas in that size tank......

the amount of surface area at the top of your tank affects the amount of Oxygen that can easily dissolve into the water which affects the number of fish you can keep.

if you pick you fish right, with more mid-water fish than top-water fish you should still be ok.....

but overall that 1" rule is pretty bad to use. it has more to do with total filtration of the tank, water change frequency, and where the fish feed in the tank. not to mention the actual size of the fish

cause a 2" Dwarf Gourami is significantly larger than a 2" Bloodfin Tetra...... but by the 1" rule they are the same =(

i do everyday or every 2 days water change to copy the natural replenishing of streams and rivers, well, i really like my sharks, i know they need schools, but i did have 6 of them, but 4 succumb to ich(it was my fault, i didnt know the warning signs of ich, and i didnt know how to treat it, so i was too late). I might get rid of the danios, or tranfer the sharks into my other 200 gallon, and get a few more...
