Pacu with ich...

#1
My Pacu has ich. I've treated the tank with Wardley Essentials Ick Away and so far my Oscar doesn't show any signs. I've heard adding salt to the water can really help cure the problem but I'm not sure what or how much to add. My biggest hurdle is also that I'm a truck driver so I'm only home two days a week to try and control this problem. Any useable advice would be great...

You would want to do either the salt/heat OR the medicine... since you've got the medicine in there, don't add any salt. If you follow the directions on the medicine, and it doesn't work by when it says it will, do a big water change and then you could try salt/heat (about 82F, can't remember exactly how much salt it is you're supposed to add, but make sure to use aquarium salt).

Thanks for the lil bit of input. I added the meds monday night and the directions say to do about a 50% water change after 24 hours and not to dose again for 72 hours after that but like I said previously I'm a truck driver so I left Tuesday morning and I won't be home again until late saterday night, some 120+ hours after adding meds. Pretty much anything I do has to be an option that can be left unattended for about 5 days...
