I just got my 55 gallon salt water tank and I have a few concerns.
The tank was an already established salt water tank full of coral, anemones, and three fish.
When rearranging the rocks, I noticed that on the bottom of every rock there were white veinlike structures all over everything. I even found one in the biowheel filter!
I asked the person I bought it from and he said it was just harmless fanworms. They don't look like any fanworm I have ever seen! He also had two powerhead pumps hooked up, one of which wasn't even working properly, no protein skimmer, and he had the temperature on the tank up in the 85 degree range. So I don't think he knows his tank as well as he should.
Should I be concerned about these worms? They aren't bristleworms and I haven't ever seen them surface above the sand (although the last owner said he's seen them surface from time to time.)
