Penguin 170 or 330

Which Filter should i get? ther 170 is 27.89 with shipping and the 330 is 31.98. the 330 is just 4.09 more $$$. so should i go with the 170 or the 330? it will be used most likely on a 20g or 29g tank. if the 330 will be overkill i will just lower the gph which u could to make it have less current. so that wont be a problem both will suit me fine. just want to know what you would buy

are u set on a penguin? cuz i fully support aquaclears all the way, bulletproof filters, but if ur hooked on the biowheel idea, ur better off with an Emporer 280, the penguins arent that great.

if u get a 20 gallon than get the 170

if u get a 29 gallon get the 330

i will be putting the filter on my 55g tank now. i dont know which one i would get later on. i will have to get a smaller tank becus i may move and i dont know if the 55g will fit. so i want a filter that i can get now and will be good for any size tank that is samller than 55g that i will be getting later on if i move

And i agree that thr 280 is probal the best overall choice

or an aqua clear 200 or 300.

i have heard to much bad things about the AC so i dont really want to get one unless some1 can prove it to me that they are very good. i have heard that they have overflowed onto the floor. Jawz since u have one has this ever happened to u?

Overflowing one to the floor would happen if you did not clean out the media every week/2 weeks i just rise my three spongs in my ac100 in old tank water and i'm ready to go.

Jawz what do you put in your AC as far as media and what size do you have.

im a sophisticated man who likes to experiment but so far ive found this to be my best setup against battling the evil ammonia and nitrites

from bottom to top

sponge
filter floss square
sponge
lava rock in media bag

the 2 sponges get alot of bacteria and the first one gets large objects, the filter floss cleans the small stuff, 2nd sponge is more bio, lava rock is mega bio lol. I have that setup in my 2 AC 150's. All i do is toss the filter floss every 2 weeks, rinse the bottom sponge, clean the impeller and motor, and boom its battling again. Enjoy lol

$32 for the 330. Just spend $6 more and get the emperor 400... Wait! The Fluval 204 is just $10 more than that... You know you really want a canister filter

nope. i hate canisters. they are to much of a hard job for me. jawz has made me decided to get an aqauclear.

Thanks jawz i use 4 sponges one on the inlet tube and the 3 in the basket. i guess i'm a simple guy
